I wish he hadn't said this.

Right now, Wikileaks is in the process of going through these reports and redacting info that could harm innocent people - which is what they generally always do before releasing files.

Julian is basically threatening to dump the files before this redaction process is complete if any harm comes to him - in other words, if something happens to him, he will go down in a blaze of glory, taking out as many innocent people as didn't have their info redacted before he throws the switch. This is the same mentality as suicide bombers have, and I find it disturbing that he would say this (especially in light of current accusations).

yeah but who would really go this far? Any normal person would of just let things calm down and maybe pick up things a bit later. Imo the effort he puts into this is way overboard. There must be some kind of great tempting motivation, and its either this idea of immortality through fame, or money...I can't think of anything else that would actually be worth it

The second point first. :rofl:

I was talking about the "little guy," who people presumably stick it to the "big guy"/man for.

He's endangering millions because he's releasing stuff about potential terrorism targets, whoever in the Middle East has helped out the US or has ties to them, stuff about how we plan to fight terrorists, etc. As it turns out, that stuff kinda puts everyone with any sort of ties to the USA at risk.

He's not endangering millions, he's endangering some Arab traitors who help America. There is no proof that these leaks endanger us anymore than we already are endangered.

I'm starting to think that my first gut instinct that he was a slimy little greaseball was probably the more accurate response than the respect I've gained for his work since I figured out how much redacting he was actually performing.

I mean, this is just 100% fucked up, no two ways about it. Between this and the bullshit lies he and his lawyer were spreading about the charges he faces in Sweden, I am quickly hoping he will hurry up and die so Wikileaks can move on without this douchenugget serving as their face.
