Honestly, I thought that series was a bit tame. It was so well written that it basically transcends a reader's preferences, though.

You should read and watch I, Claudius if you haven't already. Graves killed it, that old ass 1976 bbc series is one of my favorite tv series of all time

HBO owns the rights and has been talking about doing a new series for several years too, would be crazy.
