Conor Night, the world’s only necromancer, is starting to think that his life is finally coming together. His last job not only left him funded but also helped him fall off the radar of the world’s two most powerful wizards. Of course, being a necromancer always has its downsides, and when he’s forced into a job that will leave the Houses on the brink of all-out war, he begins to realize just how down those sides can be.

He thinks he understands the rules in the world of ghosts and magic.
Unfortunately for him, the rules are about to change.

it reminded me of 'lost'. story seemed great, but they kept adding unanswered questions. then at the last few chapters they give a shitty explanation which still leaves a lot of unanswered questions.

Promise of blood

Enjoyed it very much. Really like the character development and how the story progressively becomes more and more intricate.

The Hunger Game series.

I know, I'm behind, but I don't like reading, so I read like 1 book a year.

Fourteen-year-old Vega Jane lives in the village of Wormwood, where life is nasty, brutish, and short. Villagers have been told that there is nothing outside of Wormwood except for the Quag, a foul forest filled with terrifying beasts. No one comes, no one goes, and Wormwood has stayed this way for generations. Until Vega's friend Quentin Herms disappears. Quentin leaves Vega a secret message hinting that there's a way out of Wormwood and something extraordinary on the other side.

the book ended with too many unanswered questions for my taste, but the narrator was awesome

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1)
by Marissa Meyer (Goodreads Author)
4.14 · Rating Details · 336,530 Ratings · 32,810 Reviews
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

I never read the original cinderella, but i liked the story. nothing special with the narrator. downside is it felt like half a novel. it's one of those cliff hangers where it doesn't just stop like the batman series, but leaves most of the story left.
