People seem to think Linden was the one stalling a rebuild and now that reports are coming out that it was Benning/Aqua that were the ones stalling, people refuse to believe it until "better sources" report the same thing

I was under the impression Linden was the one who wanted to do a full rebuild.

Ownership pressed him to get it done quicker and he stepped out because he disagreed.

I find it more likely that Aquilini would want to rush things.

Ownership meddling in management decisions is a serious problem. They want to make as much money as fast as possible without consideration of the future.

To me the role of management should be to build the best team possible for the opportunity to win the cup.

Doing this when you have a meddling owner is next to impossible (if that is in fact the case).

man i just realized how fucking bad canucks defense cap signing are. like holy fuck think about this

nashville has one of the sickest pairings in NHL, their entire defense cap is 22.5mil with fucking PK subban taking up 9m
canucks has one of the worst NHL defense ever, after edler/tanev it's literally a fuckin joke, and cap is at 23.5mil
that's without hughes/juolevi

Guds/Stetcher/Hutton are paid twice than what they should be getting. Even MDZ brings some value by being the perennial whipping boy despite not playing all that bad.

Not a fan of the Roussel/Beagle signings either.

Did not understand them at the time and now the possibly of ownership trying to force the team into the playoffs before the rebuild is complete is sounding more plausible.

I don't see the point of signing/keeping older players when there is no chance to win in the next 2 years. Clearly someone high up is delusional because the signings suggest we have a chance to win.

I just want to see all the young guys get a chance this year. I could care less how bad we are. Would be nice to see some shitty cap hits cleared as well, even if they are given away for next to nothing.
