According to the EIA, the US consumes about twice the oil it produces. The consume number is falling though.

The US does have oil fields that we do not use. According to estimates, they could run this country for 4,000 years. <---- Can't link proof, as this is secret.

WHY we aren't using these oil fields, I have no idea. I can only speculate that various think tanks have decided to make sure we are the only ones with a respectable amount of oil left. ??

Man, why do you think we've been trying to convince Republicans to stop listening to globalist capitalists on this issue? We can do enough with alternative resources to totally run ourselves. We don't because that wouldn't be good for the global market run by the people who buy your politicians and Fox News entertainers.

We seem to be doing all we can with alternative sources of energy. Two of them depend on weather (solar and wind), not really a good idea for long term stability. If we had solar in space, that would be a good thing.
That pretty much leaves, hydroelectric, coal, nuclear, and oil ofc. Personally, I'm all for nuclear, and I'd love to see them figure out how to cheaply sustain a fusion reaction.

But until we get these "alternative energy sources" fleshed out a lot more than they are now, we still need to rely on the dirtier forms of energy production.

Geothermal and Concentrating Solar Thermal towers are something you didn't consider. CST is a giant tower with mirrors focusing on it, containing salts that become molten liquid within 5 minutes of sunrise and provide enough heat to provide baseload energy overnight.

Thorium reactors are something you could get liberals on board with pretty easily. Fusion is still a bit of a pipe dream.

But also transmission is a key player. We need to connect the entire U.S. grid so that CST towers in Arizona can power the whole country.

How long has the pipe been operational? It's concerning we already have leaking issues when its been in use for such a short amount of time, and the amount of press that covered the construction.

TransCanada, the company that owns and operates the Keystone Pipeline, says that an estimated 210,000 gallons, or 5000 barrels, of oil have spilled near the small town of Amherst, S.D.

caps on:

YEAH IF THEY SAY IT'S THIS AMOUNT AND NOT MORE IT MUST ME TRUE.

If this is part of the newly placed pipeline, hell yes, I'd like to know. I am somewhat happy that spill seems confined in an area where not many ppl seem to live..

But, imagine ppl actually living off the land playing Russian roulette to not be poisoned by policy to make oil as cheap as possible.

Its not part of the new pipeline...

The worst thing about our generation by far is when you pretend to understand things youre clearly clueless about
