It isn't shit to me and many many other people. If you feel differently, that's okay.

I understand, and that's okay too. However, not being able to give your friend an item in an aRPG = pretty big red flag imo, you should be on our side my friend.

The guy is having an issue that isn't a part of the game. Exchanging/trading is a part of D3 unless you play on console, aren't partied, or haven't been up to 72 hours since you first started playing. Those are the only 3 reasons you can't trade amongst others. If this guy is still having the issue of trading after these 3 things are done with then he has an issue with a glitch that needs further looking into. His glitch isn't the reality of the game.

Trading shouldn't be gated by a 72 hour window that's silly. If I find an item for my friend, and he can't login in 72 hours cause he's busy with life, has a job, etc, that's not fair at all. And it's a degrading system that punishes player interaction and character customization.

3 days after starting the game trading gets implemented. Nothing wrong with that. Takes 3 days of D2 grinding after reset to trade anything of value. I don't see the issue with 72 hours after first beginning the game. 3 days of play time starting out for new members gives them time to learn the mechanics starting out.

You have to be in a "party" with them, and that's gated by 72 hours? That discourages solo player and also punishes the player.

Brevik and Shaefer have talked about why trading is so important in the aRPG genre in their interviews. D3's trading is a gimped version of trading, and doesn't remotely come close to the real thing, you know that.

D3 developers did things this way to encourage that solo aspect. Me as a player, the want to do things in a D2 single player style. To invest in doing the climb and adventure on your own. It's time consuming and much more fun for me. I enjoy that type of RPG. But that type of rpg is an acquired taste to the diablo community. If this game wasn't named Diablo, I gurantee you it would be different for some of these fans that hate it.

Trading is still a thing in D3, it may not come close to the "real thing" as you put it, but it is a real thing in D3, just done completely different.

Stop peddling this bullshit. Trading doesn't exist in any significant capacity.

It's done so different that it made it so the game doesn't have an economy. Which is a huge aspect of aRPGs and the Diablo series. It also has a pretty large fun factor to it. All of that is stripped away from the player.

For example, finding an item that's worth a lot, but it's not a gear piece. You could sell it for something else, then buy that upgrade for your character. Path of Exile does this very well (1 example: Chaos Orbs). All about character customization and the feeling of building up "wealth". That's very important in the aRPG genre and a core value Brevik and Shaefer have talked about. It's not there in D3.
