Nope. But I'm sure as shit not gonna get shot in my mid-30s for trying to take on the army unless it's for a really good cause - and keeping hold of one of my toys isn't one.

Guns are not toys. Guns are tools, and vitally important tools. The odds of major civil strife during one's lifespan are not trivial.

They are though. Really trivial. Especially in America.

The state just has too much power and the people are too apathetic for it to happen.

In the past this might not have been true but nowadays there is virtually zero chance of actual civil war or large scale uprisings.

based on what? You throw shit around constantly about America and prove to know hardly anything about it's populace

Your posts are how you feel about America and the people but I've yet to see you show an understanding of them or the communities they are a part of.

Trump doesn't respect the law and pushes boundaries all of the time because of a cult following and politicians more worried about votes than doing what is right when norms rules and regulations are being pushed or violated
He declares war on the media, escalates all situations, encourages violence and jerks off to pushing people around via government enforcement

Police that cross the line are not consistently held accountable for their abuse and it's often excused which continues to encourage those that haven't been caught yet

There are more and more people wanting to chip a dangerous amount off the second amendment as an over reaction to random acts of violence which doesn't even make any sense if one actually cares about violence and death anyway it's just "we gotta do something"

Our country is very polarized and the hostility through a very new and a very dangerous social media is allowing the conflict to easily turn into violence and tense between citizens and enforcement as well

To say there is virtually zero chance of the need for the right the bear arms in this climate seems dangerously ignorant to me

I've seen this argument before, knew you would bring it up, and that's why I addressed it in my post.
It's based on faulty reasoning. Implying we are at the same risk now as we were 200 years ago is ridiculous.

e/ incidentally - libertarians stole this from preppers.

You "knew I would bring it up" because I've brought it up before. There's nothing faulty in the idea that major civil strife can occur. It can and does happen. Including in the United States.
