what steps should I take to verify if a previous rental car is worthy of my hard earned cash?

I usually just look at a CarFax for owner information, making sure no accidents or liens, and then an eye test on the hood body and etc

what about buying 2017's that are new because they haven't been sold yet? is there a risk in buying a new car that has been on the lot

I can get a rental car with less than 10,000 miles for a lot cheaper. do you really think for example a Toyota Corolla 2017 with 8k miles is a huge risk just because it was a rental? (through Enterprise)

mby not corolla, those things can last forever even if abused. 8K is nothing, not even broken in.

I did some research on Enterprise as well and according to what I found they have very good track record on their maintenance and cars that they elect to sell

Friend bought a 2015 Ford Fusion from Enterprise, bought it for $10k and has had no problems. Had like 22k miles on it.

thanks for the tip, I personally don't trust Ford anymore after buying an Escort and an Explorer that went south on me right after hitting 100k. granted they were older generations 2004 Eddie Bauer Explorer and 2001 Ford Escort
