Not really. We need to create more diverse wildlife sanctuaries instead of monospecies horticulture.

That's some big government s*** right there. I love it.

Who said anything about using the government? We'd do better eliminating ordinances requiring grass (especially as a percentage of your property) in the first place.

No you will need a monopoly of violence to keep other humans from f****** it up. Nothing has ever happened because people woke up and decided to play nice.

Baltimore recently made the news for officers that planted toy guns in case there was an officer involved shooting. This came to light after the "suicide" of the detective that was set to testify against the task force. (people still pushing it as a suicide despite the ME ruling it a homicide)

I'm all up for that, in the mean time the EU is incorporating intellectual property rights on crops due to US developments. We've always had a market that shared crops cross breeding, gaining newly developed characteristics and high diversity. As we speak they are being monopolized, diversity reduced, evolution only to happen in large corporations planting only one type of the "best" crops everywhere, vulnerable to the same cause of famine in the near future. This is a free market capitalistic route we are following to adjust to the same US regulation, but imo it would be nice to reconsider property rights on intellectual property, especially on crops.

Pretty sure I just explained how the monopoly of violence was part of the problem and you want more of it.

Yeah our cops killed other cops and criminals that could expose them too and ran an armed robbery gang.

I like violence decentralized personally. But if that was Universal we probably wouldn't have many parks.

Figured I would dig up my own city:

Quote
Section 4-1-3 of the City Code: City Code requires that residents control the growth of weeds and grass on their property. Weeds and grass in excess of 8 inches in height, on any lot less than one acre that has a building on it or an empty lot that abuts a lot containing a building, are a public nuisance and are prohibited.

After giving the owner or occupant of property in violation of this ordinance seven days advance written notice of noncompliance, the City can cut, or hire someone else to cut, the grass and weeds and assess the cost against the property, in accordance with state statutes.
