literally odds were low with poe and it had a huge backing of support financially
Yet you're comparing a paid game with a game that was designed to be free but with a sustainable micro transaction driven business model, being a free game gives it the freedom to do the kinds of things with those that a paid game can't get do without controversy or hurt sales. It's incomparable, free early access vs paid early access are very different animals.
You have to accept that a large margin of your profits occur during early access, you can add microtransactions to try to even it out but 1st of all what's stopping you from adding it before the game comes out? Also it will just reduce the sales you will get after it 'officially' comes out from low compared to early access hype sales to even lower.
I'll say it one more time: early access hype sales will be most of their profits, they are no longer pushed to work as hard because they
already have the money, aside from out of the goodness of their hearts they have no more motivation to give you as much of a quality product. It's counter-intuitive to capitalism to give someone money up-front for a game that isn't finished, people need to stop doing it if they want these games to succeed.
