I saw an interesting video on that.

If a graphics card renders at 60fps, the intervals of frames aren’t necessarily 1/60 each. 30 of those frames might be rendered in 35% or the time, and 30 might be rendered in 70% of the time.

What you can end up with is 2 frames being sent from the graphics card being caught in 1 screen refresh, effectively halving your actual frames.

I can understand the appeal of 120+hz for games... but I’m not playing games. And even when I do, I don’t care.

That's a faulty misunderstanding if you think high refresh rate monitors are only for games. The difference is insane, for everyday use, professional work, 3d work, gaming, or whatever.

Yeah you can see the refresh rate as you type on Microsoft word or for emails

It's so worth it almost every company has 144 hz monitors for everyday use.

Matter of time, actually. Once you go to anything significant above 60hz, and then back, it feels like 10fps.
