I'm not "normalizing" anything. You claim to be a history major but have so little historical perspective. Like i said only until recently did this notion that a man having relations with a sexually matured female as some sort of taboo. I mean the notion that at 17 this girl is a child and this assault is the same as him doing the same to a 7 year old or even younger child is the same is pretty stupid. 3 months later when the girl is 18 society switches gears and this becomes totally acceptable? You don't see the pure stupidity here?

10-20 years ago it was acceptable for guys to pinch girls asses in Italy or a hundred years ago many girls by the age of 16-17 were getting married. Instead of being an adult and discussing these evolving social norms as an adult you automatically go for the hyperbolized "Hur durr you're for child rape" like a simpleton that can't differentiate basic ideas.

As i said he is obviously in the wrong for doing what he did nor am i justifying his actions, i just don't think these type of scenarios are the same as actual pedophilia and the way these discussions are being framed it's definitely as if there's no difference between a guy banging a 17 year old or him banging a 8 year old. In college my one criminal justice professor was an assistant District Attorney and used to tell us horror stories of young guys going out clubbing and fucking a 16-17 year old and getting hit with rape charges. He's like i feel bad for the guys but it's the law and we have to charge them.
