I enjoyed it alot for the most part but I feel like they should've shown less of the envoys and kept them more mysterious, I was hyped as fuck about them at the start before I saw them as regular dudes training, having cheesy conversations and then going insane. The premise of the show was also fucking with my head a bit, I mean if you're killed and they just stick your memories and personality into another body well... you're still dead... it's just that now some other guy is walking around thinking he's you. So I was sorta thinking about this everytime people were just casually jumping between sleeves and not making a big deal out of it, like nah mate you're about to fucking die how are you not skeptical about this shit at all.

That's like teleportation. Also I had the same issue, but I mean they did show people without a sleeve, like the girl in virtual. So you basically have to say to yourself "some special alien technology allows them to save their consciousness" and just believe it despite how unnatural it feels. That is actually the entire point of the universe of the story, to feel unnatural and foreign.

E: it's like the alien tech becomes the new human brain, so when you die and the alien tech is in a new body, it's like a brain transplant.

Was absolutely fantastic. Never read the book prior to watching, but I heard they changed a lot. Went and read the book today, there was quite a bit changed and yes the book was much better than the tv series but the tv series was still great.
Glad it was renewed for season 2, started reading the second book and it's a completely different setting. It'll be interesting to see how they adapt the second book.

Did you by chance read the 'A Land Fit for Heroes' trilogy by the same author? Carbon seemed like an interesting series, but the Heroes trilogy was kinda mediocre. Not bad, but nothing special either (unless you count a homosexual main character as special)..

Couldn't get halfway through this one. Just seemed too out there and I dig a good sci fi show/movie
