they knew the d3 combat mechanics wouldnt work for pvp. i dont see why else they would remove it other then they couldnt get it to work and if i remember right they said so themselves that they just couldnt make pvp fun. my theory is that diablo 3 was made with 2 things in mind. having combat feel satisfying and be "addicting" d3 is just endless killing monsters with epic cool animation and getting epic loot for ur epic toon cool guy. i dont think they are bad developers but made a caricature of diablo 2 any just thought of it the wrong way. they think why do people love d2? because they love to kill monsters non stop and grind? ok lets do that with d3 and i think its just got worse with updates its just bout grinding paragon levels and grifts and treasure goblins or whatever the frick gay names they come up with. like wow loot is so fkn awesome right. look at this trailer for destiny 2 by bungie: https://youtu.be/ZJLAJVmggt0?t=1m24s
