Honestly if your goal is to OC you'll want something designed for that.
ASUS/EVGA/Gigabyte are you main go to boards.
The main factor in this would be the chipset which is z97 I believe.
Now as for the shop, just cause a new worker works on it does not imply they hold higher standards or more knowledge.
shady company's hire shady people imo or people that don't care do to other factors.
