Why?

Breaking ranks with Israel would likely reduce Islamic animosity to the US for starters. It's also a sensible humanitarian move and shows the US gives a shit about human rights abuses instead of just using them as propaganda.

I can't see why it wouldn't help stabilise the middle east and reduce terrorism in the west.

Its one thing to think we are too close with israel or that we should be involved less in the middle east.
its another entirely to say we should actively break our alliance with Israel to ally with freaking Iran of all countries and that this would be the best thing to ever happen to us.
