do I need some extra cooling fan? shouldnt 8gb ram be enough for this setup, also how do I choose the right case that will fit all the components?
another question - is there any difference between 4x4gb ram and 2x 8gb ram?
and another one - ryzen 1600 - that is 3.2 ghz, u didn't mean 3.6 right?
As for extra fans, it depends on which case, each ship with different amounts.
As for case they are kinda universal. Just make sure to look if they support ATX or M-ATX depending on the motherboard you pick.
8GB could be sufficent, but whenever I game something like heavily modded minecraft or rust i use about 12GB RAM.
4x4gb vs 2x8gb. Well Ryzen and regular i3, i5 and i7 only supports dual channel. So performance wise there will be no difference. BUT it's always smarter to go for 2 ram sticks for dual channel setup. Because you can upgrade easier later.
Well 1600 and 1600x is actually the same chip. It's just overclock from them. You can achieve this exact same performance by mildy overclocking.
- Like i went with an 1700 instead off 1700x (even tho budget allowed it) but then i just overclocked it to perform the same as an 1800x.
- The things like cases are universal and 2 RAM sticks are best etc. is for the most common hardware builds.
People who do custom watercooling, really small form factor builds (ITX) or extreme builds like with Skylake-X CPU's are exluded from these statements.
