Something interesting I noticed tho, after they hid elo in season 3 after preseason, my w/l ratio dropped by ~20 games meaning I was around 200 elo less than when I got placed (I stopped caring, game was shit). Well I got placed at 1900 into plat IV and was around 1700 elo or less as a result of the losses but still gaining more LP than I was losing in Plat I.

Take that however you like. By now it wouldn't surprise me if plat was silver in terms of actual elo, but I only know for sure that high plat was literally mid gold in season 3.

I doubt they would actually raise the bar behind that layer of meaningless abstraction known as tiers/leagues since they're trying to appeal to the widest audience possible, which elo couldn't do since everyone knew exactly how good or shit they were, but they may have kept it the same as it was when I stopped playing. There's no way to ever know, however.
