but don't conflate "causing serious problems" with "will be a real threat to society". Lots of things that are good on the whole cause serious problems. Nuclear energy, mass production, democracy, my penis. They all cause serious problems that must be dealt with.

do you believe memory is an important aspect here? It's something that's been with you always. If someone doesn't remember a time when they weren't sexually depraved does that put them in a different situation in regards to what they're liable to feel or do when compared to someone who is equally depraved that does remember such a time?

The only difference between the two is one knows they used to be cis in their orientation, but they are no more interested in those things than the other guy.

I doubt it outweighs the benefits

Im not sure what the widespread benefit of porn is, besides contentment for those who are not able or willing to seek a mate. It seems to harm ones idea of actual sex and gives young men drastically off expectations of women.

Being repressed has issues related to sexual assault rates. I'd find it again but I'm on truly shit internet atm.

oh i'm sure it does reduce actual assault rates. i guess the conversation gets interesting because we need to compare a low number of terrible events like rape to a large number of things like shitty relationships and poor ideas of women that by themselves are incomparably small but much more prevent. similar to freedom vs gun violence. who wins? dunno

Dunno, I think our ideas of women are WAY better now than they were even 30 years ago. Maybe that's in spite of pornography though.

Overall my generation which grew up on internet porn isn't having rampant shitty relationships. We seem pretty well adjusted overall even considering the disadvantages our parents gave us to keep their cash cow alive.

I agree generally for sure. My only addition is that our generation is have a harder time with commitment. Although that's in all categories not just relationships. And porn is at best a contributing factor
