Because I want his comp to work out of the box...with no BS.
I don't want him to put in the 3200Mhz RAM and then have to go through all the BS to one...get it to run at 3200Mhz, when the BIOS will auto it to 2400Mhz anyhow.
there is no bs, he isn't overclocking, he can literally go into bios and click xmp. OR like you say, he can just leave it at 2400mhz and later in the future if he ever wants to increase the speeds, he can do that as well for only $2 now.
But i guess he can buy a 2400mhz ram now, and if for some reason he feels like he wants 3000+ rams in the future, he can either rebuy them or have a stressful day testing it to push it to those speeds with his 2400 rams. Your argument would make sense, if he spent like $50+ more to get 3200 speeds vs 2400 but we are talking about $2 here.
also where were those 3 ppl stuck on 2677mhz? what mobos they buy? in OP's case, he spends $2, gets stuck on 2677 vs 2400. But still has the option to go 3000+ np once their bios updates, big deal.

google degree? I've owned several sets of g.skill and they've always gone above and beyond the default speeds with no difficulties.
so you're telling the OP who has no idea about computers to purchase 2400 gskill rams, so he can push it to 3200 without stress? ok.
we all know gskills are ezpz gfg, but have you tried it with a ryzen doe?
