I get a good laugh about people getting so butt hurt because I said I would be willing to pay more money for better hardware.
These guys live so frugally with there gaming computers and iPhones..

The irony is real.

It is probably because you are so off base.

Value is a perception. Until there is a real game reason to own it, it's not worth the $500 they are asking.

UHD player for my 4k tv

Gets certain releases 1 year+ before my PC and then it has certain console exclusives I would like to play and has decent enough hardware to actually do 4k games. I literally just was making the point that I would be willing to pay more money for a SSD option which THERE is a market for.

UHD players are like 249.99 anyways.

I understand what you're trying to say. The people that have the iphone 6 and go pay 800 dollars 1 year later for the iphone 6s etc etc.

/edit

Especially enjoy seeing people that are Playstation guys laugh about the price tell you point out the fact the PS4 pro released $100 cheaper with no initial 4k capabilities lol

Every generation of console for the last while whether it is xbox or playstation was 299-499 on release day.

At least this console is respectable in every hardware department you want except the hard drive

$499 is a price tag that actually represents the price of the hardware in Xbox One X, but it doesn't represent a price of a console that can stay competitive in the current marketplace.

So you can argue that increase the hardware, increase the price. But then you inch closer to the pc space.

I don't fault you for wanting to spend more for a more premium experience but as per the above it is off base.

You make a good point but I would ask why you think it's not competitive considering a specific console isn't supposed to run the market for years at a time anyways. With technology and the advances we see it's not realistic.
With the companies competing to one up each other it doesn't take long for a competitor to respond. Every company does it doesn't matter who; they release product x for 10 dollars until another company releases product y and charges 10 dollars but is slightly better so product x gets cheaper. Still means product x had a period of time it was worth 10 dollars and was sold at 10 dollars.

But besides the technical nuances between the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro they are being perceived as catering to the same audience, but the PS4 Pro is already cheaper.

True but as new titles release they will become more demanding and like I said the ability to play UHD blu rays in my household anyways is a big deal since that's what everything is moving to.

In accordance with Moore's law the component price will only become cheaper. If that's the future releasing a console at such a high price only allows competitors to release better hardware for cheaper if that future becomes reality.

#1 I literally paid $1 for this phone. No additional payment plan.

#2 phones have more utility than video game consoles.

#3 where is your logic?

#1 your $1 phone costs you surprisingly more than $1. You clearly have no idea how these things work. No such thing as free lunch
#2 So you facebook and candy crush. I wouldn't call that "more utility".
#3 My logic is right here. Luckily I'm not as poor as you (mind that $1 phone...) - I can see one doing these decisions about what to get when you're not living off the interests of your equity.
