They dont choose to be single, most men aren't obligated to raise someones brood, and the ones that will would not meet her expectations

that's a broad overgeneralization. some women choose to leave an abuser, some women simply choose to leave a man for non-abuse reasons, some women then go on to not find another mate, etc.
