I have given much more arguments than that. Only one person has actually tried to have a proper conversation with me about the issue.

The back-and-forth between you and stupidkid282 escalated beyond proper conversation into unproductive bickering. Welsh and I have tried to interject with productive comments to get the conversation back on track.

Saying it is all about bullying and putting the show under the blanket term does the show a huge disservice.

I think that you underestimate how big the "Bullying Blanket" is in 2017.

How big the professionally offended snow flakes call it and how big it actually is are two different things.

Over the years, I've started to get a sneaking suspicion that the original Star Wars trilogy was sort of "great by accident" and Lucas actually didn't know what he was doing (those movies weren't his vision). Also, this: http://mentalfloss.com/article/57861/11-successful-products-originally-invented-something-else

I don't mean to change the subject but I thought that Star Wars being shit movies that were basically saved by the people surrounding Lucas was common knowledge among film buffs.

His ex-wife's rewrites. Other people making the editing decisions, etc.

In 2017, the blanket around the term "bullying" includes actions who are actually bullying and other actions mislabeled as bullying. That's the conversation that the show focuses on.

And it doesn't make the movies any worse just because they weren't the creator's vision.

I mean.....there are numerous articles linking bullying to 13 reasons why....Not to mention, you still fail to acknowledge all the instances of bullying NOT surrounding Hannah. Bryce....is a Bully to all his friends.

A word like bully, can evolve over time, and it has especially evolved withe the implementation of social media into society.

Using the term snowflake automatically makes me assume that you won't reason with someone else's opinion.

This thread is making me want to right up a complete analysis of the show, it was fun in college. I'll start rewatching tonight or tomorrow.

But it sure makes episodes 1-3 make a hell of a lot more sense. He surrounded himself with people who wouldn't question him.

If we all agreed to move this discussion away from the previous 10 pages of arguments, where would we go and what can we further discuss?

We all agree that issues in this show represent real issues in high schools (and outside high school).

ISO opinions: Who is the hottest chick on the series?

Jeff's mom was bangin'. Sad that she only had 1 scene. After her, then comes Zach's sister.

3rd place I guess would be Clay's mom

If you mean online discussion in terms of mental health/suicide/depression and the like, theres a social media movement in the UK called Andys man club. It's a support network aimed at Males, who (according to numerous research) are far less likely to ever talk and seek help. Was set up by a group of friends after their friend killed himself, with no warning signs or obvious changes in behaviour prior to doing so. Movement has started to grow pretty big which is awesome, even if it just raises awareness - their motto is "it's ok to talk"

Also, there are some good sub reddits (on reddit, obviously lol) where mature conversations and discussions can take place. The 13 reasons why sub is just one big messy circle jerk though imo.

I take interest as i work in the mental health field, occupational therapy - so to be clear i'm no head expert or anything.. but do join in discussions where i can.

/edit

if you meant discussions in relation to this show specifically, idk - gets too heated too quick in here lol.

yeah I meant this  haha

Unfortunately, I find it likely that culture in society will get even more worse than it is now.
