they made him seem... old(er)

They released the dub for the first season and it's fucking trash. They didn't use any of the english voice actors from the 97 anime or movies. It's just random people and horrible. Berserk always had a good dub before. I don't think they give a shit about the quality of this at all.

I still watch it because it's better than nothing.

i watch in japanese with subtitles and satisfied

I do too, the Japanese voices are fine. But I like the old dub too.

i read the manga, i understand people's affection towards the two.

they just drew him a bit taller and made him sound older than how he does in the source material and it's... subpar
