I mean having chicken breast + rice + veggies isn't the same price, it's usually cheaper. Relative to the Big Mac example, you could even upgrade to fancier cuts like pork tenderloin and beef sirloin, add some quinoa, throw in some fancy salad dressing and end up paying the same as the cancer-inducing meal from McDonald's. all so long as you put a little effort in cooking.

i saved a ton of money spending 3-4 dollars a day on food back when i could stand barely eating anything per day
I know things in America are cheaper, but I don't see why groceries wouldn't be cheaper too.
