They're tangentially related. As in reading the prequel first isn't going to be that much better.

What I would recommend is to often check the map in the front of the books whenever locations are mentioned, to look up information on characters on towerofthehand.com (has spoiler settings so you can filter by which books you have/haven't read).

@Plasmasnake: If you like internal struggle https://parahumans.***/ is definitely a recommendation. Long and arduous and capeshit but it's the good kind of capeshit.

The epa doesn't actually produce anything and it tells businesses that they can't do what's been done for thousands of years without heavy fines and restrictions and licences.
