No I'm not. I'm talking about the possibility of a few electors refusing to vote for Trump on their own moral grounds. Honestly bud, this is how your democratic system is. It's not the overthrow of democracy, it's your (admittedly ridiculous) democratic system at work. I'm talking about the emboldening of anti-Trump sentiment due to the influence of officials who may deny him and the possibility of an assassination.
Like I said dude. You're a drama-queen.
And american democracy 'allows' faithless electors to rig the election against the voted upon will of the people in the same sense that it allows violent overthrow of the government. And at least the latter had express support among
some of the founding fathers, unlike the former.
You've got a very flawed and incorrect view of how american democracy works if you think the technicality allows for such an overthrow, thats the point of no return when american democracy completely breaks down.
You can speak in hypotheticals and say "The establishment
could sway the electoral college to elect Hillary Clinton instead of Donald Trump against their pledges", but its just as valid as saying "Barack Obama
could declare himself God-Emperor Supreme Leader for life and conscript all working aged men to build an 80 story tall monumental effigy of himself on the glassed sands that were once washington DC"
