they will have to want to change it themselves. only then can u support them. if they do, you can start simple like changing one meal out of the day for 2 weeks, and keep rest same. slowly like this get them to a healthier diet. if you think this persons heading for their grave at 30, there is absoloutely no need to point out, because im sure they would know it better than you (or at the very least realized).

all your anecdote tells me is that you dont have enough self respect for your own body, that all it took was some random chcik to spjur u into losing weight. When i was fatter, i didnt give 2 shits what anyone thought and nope i wasnt disgusted with myself either. indeed when i lost weight (started eating less and walking more just because i felt like it) people commented, rather nicely. still gave no fucks because i wasnt horrified of mt previous body image.

what im trying to say is dont project ur anecdote onto others. Even if shaming produces fast results, it comes at a price and espeically long run its where you see the consequences.

1. In many cases, the bad eating habits are caused by lack of self confidence.
2. Shaming leads to lack of self confidence.
