i skimmed it
so u download windows 10 to the usb and have it till a later date when u want to use windows 10?
but once u install windows 10, then u may still want to go back to windows 7? u would have to uninstall and go back.... be a hassle?
From the article I gather that they are suggesting that you...
1. Make a full OS backup of your current install.
2. Upgrade to Windows 10, so MS has a record of it.
3. Then, either reset back to Windows 7 or just recover Windows 7 from your backup.
I believe they are saying that all you need to do, is generate an entry in MS's record of those who have updated, AND have pre-made the Windows 10 USB stick, for later use./e In my case, I don't need to worry about it, because I have Win 7 Home Premium, and upgrading to Win 10 Home is just stupid.
However, when I beta tested Win 10, through MS's Insider Program, that's what I did. Made a backup of Win 7 install, then wiped the hard drive, then installed Win 10.
After finding out that I didn't like Win 10, at all. Just wiped the hard drive again and restored from a backup.
