RNC should try and primary him out in Texas. I have no sympathy for parties in general, but you can't use party resources and then thumb your nose at them.
Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
That would be a risk for the party even in Texas. Cruz is the definition of an "accidental Senator" in that he was a huge underdog in 2012, and if the party tried to organize a challenge against him they could end up stuck with another Cruz-like candidate in literally the exact same way that they got stuck with Cruz, or worse accidentally lose the seat to the Democrats by getting stuck with a wingnut that they'd have to abandon in the GE.
Cruz only won the seat because he and 7 other candidates held the frontrunner, Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, under 50% in the first round, and then when he and Dewhurst advanced to the runoff Cruz was able to poach enough votes from him and the people who didn't advance to win. If the party tried to primary Cruz then they could get stuck with an alternative who could win the nomination exactly like Cruz did, and the person could end up being as or even more flawed as Cruz is.
