ted cruz's reason for not endorsing donald trump were the attacks on his family, see

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/07/20/politics/ted-cruz-republican-convention-moment/

while i certainly do not agree with ted cruz's political opinions this is one point i fully agree with him, only the lowest scum smear the family of an opponent
and i also believe that it was right that he attended the convention since someone had to speak out

wonder what the posters here think about it

Trump used him as the heel for his reality show

doesn't really matter, he is relevant for a few days so that could be seen as good I don't think it destroys him or propels him for the future

He didn't apologize for all the murders he and his father committed so I am more disappointed in that

Im curious how viable of a candidate Cruz is anyways. I mean he made it to #2, but really only on the evangelical base and that wont ever win a general in and of itself. And im sure he can still do well in his state, but could he even rise up to governor? He's got a lot of national focus issues in his platform, lucky for him those all ring well in TX. But IMO he's a career senator who will try his hand at national politics here and there and in 12 years will be the Mike Huckabee, soundbites and a small base but no shot at winning a presidency.

He should have endorsed trump, because yea, trump is good for murrica, yihhaaaa.

This means only 1 thing: they think Trump will not win, so later they can charge everything on him without being involved, in only few months.

I don't really see any potential dem nominee ever losing to Cruz or a Cruz like character again tbh. I just don't think the numbers are there anymore for that sort of thing.

He is definitely more of a big fish in a small pond kinda character.

This is assuming the country rejects Trump in Nov. If he wins then I know nothing and won't pretend to at that point

He basically said that everyone should vote for Hillary, it was the most truthful thing he ever said. Trump is certainly a different type of candidate - but if you need all the people that have been lying for 40+ years in power and you still think that anything is really going to change your fooling yourself. Basically that whole convention is just expressing how much they hate Hillary, not how much they love Donald Trump or his policies. They asked one of Trump's kids what Mike Pence's role will be as Trump's Vp and he said he'll be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.
