Everyone lost their legs in Nam... because conservatives imposed conscription upon the people in direct violation of the constitution and the people's freedom.

The draft was necessary for a generation of hippy wimp cowards begging to be brought to terms with reality, it was one of the only saving graces of that period.

Vietnam was successful for many reasons, for one it highlighted the failure of limiting yourself unnecessarily, which can certainly lead to defeat and would have for any lesser nation.
