Political pundits keep predicting the downfall of Trump, and I agree with them, but let's assume Trump somehow gets the Republican nomination.

Who would you vote for? A man with no political experience, who appears to have less policy knowledge than many of our members here. Or, a firm member of the political establishment who has moderate/left positions and has more policy knowledge than practically any Republican presidential candidate.

----

If it's Trump vs Hillary, I will be voting Democrat for the first time in my life.

I realize everyone is going to vote in this poll, but I'm particularly interested in the opinions of other Republicans.

I nulled. Surprised to see you pick Hillary. I'd figure you'd go 3rd party.

I would think Clinton would be the obvious choice for anyone outside of the social issue wingnuts. It would make sense for those people to vote for Trump but they wouldn't back Clinton for any reason anyway, and that's why they're in the minority.

For me Clinton vs. Trump is win-win either way. It's either a cakewalk in 2016 or the benefits in 2018 and 2020 are out of this world. A small part of me would actually root for the Trump win.

Trump won't ever get the nomination. Watch for Fiorina or Carson. The GOP will never allow trump to get the nomination

Lol... those are the other two candidates the establishment would never allow to become the nominee.

It's just basic party politics. The RNC, the Super PACs/501c4s, allied groups like the Chamber and Club for Growth, and every downballot nominee would line up to deny those three people the nomination if one of them was a serious threat at crunch time. The danger that Trump poses to the party is obvious, and Carson is the same kind of demogogue but without the capacity to cut a billion-dollar check. A Fiorina candidacy would look like Mitt Romney on steriods. She might be preferable to the other two but the party would snuff her out in a second if she was the last crank standing.

It's quite amusing that the imbecile who subscribed to the laughable "Hillary Clinton faked a fall in an elaborate ruse to avoid giving testimony she wants to give" theory, among countless other conspiracy theories, would attempt to claim that someone else is offering a conspiracy theory.

Life must be a real adventure on your alternate plane of reality.

...there is no single individual , group or organization that has the power , on their own or in a concert with others , to deny anyone the nomination .

Fashion tip - if you wear that foil cap tilted to the side you'll be the coolest conspiracy nutter on your block .

Republican establishment agenda: Non-existent.

Gay agenda: Designed by LGBT proponents, active in nearly all media, using their power to influence politics.

Great consistency buddy.

...even the gays can't deny someone the nomination . They can influence things like the color of Oreo's and Dorito's but their power has limits .
