Yeah they did. They threatened to a year ago, if there weren't serious reforms. There weren't, so the US left.

you mean the united nations council which was lead by saudi-arabia, spent one third of the entirety of its sessions condemning israel?
the council where saudi-arabia acknowledged "China's great treatment of minorities", followed by - hold your breath - China praising Saudi-arabia's "great progress on religious liberty"?

this body has been an ineffective laughingstock without any credibility for a long, long time. the Trump administration is absolutely doing the right thing by pulling out of this waste-of-time-organization.

You mean that one Obama only rejoined 8 years ago with a promise to "reform it from the inside" after we had already quit it in disgust at the legitimization of human rights abuses worldwide by it? And spent all those 8 years 'reforming it'?

indeed. this council is the embodiment of the self-loathing western liberals - the types who are eager to blame their own countries and their own culture for everything bad in this world, while at the same time intentionally closing their eyes to all the misery and backwardness of any foreign country/society/culture which is from the "global south", or which is - frankly speaking - "brown" enough.
