When i was in my teens i was a agnostic but as i've experienced life more and more i found no happiness in living a hedonistic lifestyle. There comes a point in some peoples lives where you wonder why am i here, where do i come from, where am i going? You are on the right track if your asking these questions. Some of our atheists friends will discourage even this basic right but my best advice is get educated in theology and hear the word of God. I read and studied a lot of theology and philosophies but Christianity dwarfs all of those beliefs. My advice is don't listen to people on forums but take the initiative and read some of the religious writings out there on your own. You should read A Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis its not a terribly long read and will answer in a thorough way what Christianity is all about and why so many people are drawn to it.
You seemed to hit a couple of sweet spots in there. I have recently been questioning not necessarily what happens after death because it is inevitable, but the reasons as to who, what, where, why, and how I am here. That is another big question of mine, why are we here and what are we really?
Physically I see myself as a human-being. A chunk of organic material that has a lot of electrical pulses and garbage associated that is rather unattractive looking (on the inside). One of my main concerns is really, what are we? Beyond humans.
