Ok so if you heard the most recent news about these monkeys is that they are trying to make a push for a Al-Baghdadi. This has been the case for months now. Now what i really don't understand and i am no expert is why aren't we allocating proper air power. For example we know they are making a push in this direction why not send a couple of AC-130s and make mince meat out of hundreds of them in the matter of minutes? Or have half a dozen drones just picking them off constantly just in this area. I have the feeling that we are half asing this. We have very advanced and destructive weapons i don't understand why not use them.

Congress has to authorize military force against ISIS.

Right now we're running airstrikes on executive order.

i don't think ISIL is a traditional army , more like an ideology, a splattering of loonies, and an occasional grouping.

Theres probably not much to bomb to stop it - you really need boots on the ground and to look at each person

and that would take $ and commitment and we don't really have that.

You know Al-Baghdadi is a person right? Not a place...

e/ Oh lol. My bad. Looked it up and they're taking territory near an airforce base that is also called Al-Baghdadi. Totally my fuckup. Carry on.

I disagree to an extent. While true they are not a traditional army they still use traditional methods of warfare. They are well organized and their attacks are strategic and with purpose. It's not as if 5 of these goat fuckers got together and decided to go attack a military base. While i'm not aware of ranks i do believe that there is some sort of command structure or there is no way they would of made the progress they have in the past.

Honestly i think the right amount of air power would completely halt them. Reconnaissance drones can easily monitor and relate large movements. You could send out a few AC-130 and blanket them or just have drone patrols it would largely diminish their will to go after bases when 24/7 you have drones dropping loads of led on your head.

...then you need to educate yourself . The IS military is being trained and run by former Sunni generals and other army leaders who were loyal to Saddam .
