I would just say no and avoid the bullshit that occurs when she inevitably screws you on pay.

40 dollars should be your minimum. Contracting work pays really well but you get fucked out of everything an employee would get so you have to make it up with straight dollars per hour.

80k a year seems like a lot until you realize taxes and insurance alone will drop that into the 40-50k range which doesn't include 401k/Ira and similar things most people who work full time get. Of course that's if you work 40 hours a week

E. And I'm not trying to sound like a dick and say 4k a month is bad money or anything but the wife just took a contract position and we had to go through all of this to figure out if it was worth it.

It'd probably be closer to 30-40 hours a month.

It won't be a lot.

I don't have much in terms of saving and it'll just be enough income to pay my bills/car payments etc... before I start school.

Edit : This isn't like a job job or anything I'm putting any stock in lol. It's just something to keep me floating until I finish school. It'll be nice to have a little extra income.



She's a terrible person, but she's never not paid anyone for work they've done. I couldn't see her doing that. If she did, I'd just drive to her daughter's house and make her pay me.

That's still pushing 2k a month! That would be a great side job in my opinion if you really aren't worried about her not paying. And at that rate taxes are almost irrelevant.

In my opinion I would jump on it. I would love that opportunity right now but with tech related shit not medical

Na, I'm not worried about her stiffing me. Like I said, she's a terrible person, but she'll pay me if I'm doing the work and I always do good work.

I've been a contractor before and I know how fucking stupid and annoying all the tax bullshit can be and it really does take a bigger chunk than most people think. I'll have 5 months before school starts once I get up north and it'll be nice just having a little extra cash around.
