he kept trying to get me to go outside and i refused, i told him to give me a reason for detaining me and i would cooporate, so he sat me down for about 2 hours and then his supervisor showed up, took him outside, came back and let me go

How come a taser wasn't used to bring this criminal down? Seems shocking this guy would have been more safe than a gun in a hotel lobby...

Let's be honest... OP probably couldn't tell the difference between a taser and a real gun.

If a cop did that to my uncle or dad when they were drunk, that cop would be very dead. Some people are monsters and you just don't piss them off.

I hope this isn't an attempt to prove why cops are over zealous when dealing with drunk people...

exactly a good cop knows how to deescalate the violence rather than amp it up

most drunks are fairly easy to get along with when you don't try to get in a pissing match first thing

I agree. My uncles usually a happy drunk anyway lol

the part to mention is what took him to handcuff you? Did you curse at him expecting to walk away freely?

I don't care how intoxicated a person is, if they have no weapon and aren't a danger there isn't ever a reason for a cop to pull a gun on them.

But he might have cursed at the cop and hurt his feels
