I don't need a parasite / clump of tissue described to me.

Clearly, you do.

Living? But separate from the mother? An identifiably independent being? an entity? Or simply a parasite? A clump of cells that cannot be said to be anything but a lump of organic matter?

Living parasitically does not mean not human. Hooked up to life support doesn't mean the person is not human.

I didn't threaten to kill him. That's ridiculous. He's on the other side of the world and a forum grudge isn't worth killing someone over.I said I would enjoy seeing him die.Which I shouldn't have said. It's not ok to say that about somebody on a forum. I haven't anywhere claimed that either of our behaviour has been acceptable. Nor that either of us is without fault. In fact I said the opposite... that it is unacceptable, we are both at fault and I'm tired of it so I'm ending it.

I don't know what to say really, pretty disgusting... who says this?

Movie is called 'Alive'.

On the subject, landmark decision.

Kinda hard to be reasonable when you're in a situation that would force you to eat a loved one.

True. I like to think I would take that path but who knows what I would actually do in that situation.

That's why it's better to just have one rule for all that benefits the greater good in my opinion. The government takes the healthy organs needed and the people who need them, get them.

It's a hard thing to deal with if it's your loved one's corpse and you have particular beliefs that mean you don't wish parts of their body to be donated but it's also a hard thing to see your loved ones waste away on a long waiting list for a new kidney/liver/heart/whatever.

and you're entitled to that opinion.

it's true. Maybe I'm just not eloquent enough to explain why I see a difference.

Pretty interesting, but differing details.

Dudley killed Parker to eat him.

The Andes plane crash survivors just ate people that were already dead (afaik).

Also, was there ever a criminal case/investigation into the cannibalism after the plane crash? A quick google search has been fruitless.

Indeed. At no point has anyone suggested we kill people so their organs can be given to others. Only that those already dead should have their organs harvested to help the living.

...incidents not really covered in the movie included using parts of the dead as protection from the cold including using muscle tissue for socks .

Well, if you're eating them anyway...
