Watching a sport where a great deal of it's participants are grievously wounded is immoral. It's no different than watching roman gladiators duel to the death.

The National Football League, which for years disputed evidence that its players had a high rate of severe brain damage, has stated in federal court documents that it expects nearly a third of retired players to develop long-term cognitive problems and that the conditions are likely to emerge at “notably younger ages” than in the general population.
One third of NFL players will suffer from brain damage. The NFL has been trying to cover up the facts surrounding this issue for decades. As if that wasn't bad enough, players gain professional ambition for the sport as early as middle school. There is no way a person can weigh the consequences of their life choices at such an early age.

The National Football League conducted a two-decade campaign to deny a growing body of scientific research that showed a link between playing football and brain damage
I am sure if you ask the children of these athletes if they would rather have their fathers or their careers they would want their fathers. Their fathers never had a chance to make an informed decision with the NFL covering up the effects of their sport in much the same way the tobacco industry did. In an industry that makes 10 billion dollars a year it's not hard to speculate as to why anyone would want to cover up such effects.
