And yet its an existential threat to the US? What are you saying?

Yeah why is it not a threat to Israel but a threat to America?

I've never said ISIL was a threat to invade the US. I believe they're a threat on a different level and I pretty clearly distinguish that. I believe there's a significant difference between threat to conquer and threat to national security and institutions. I think you should believe that too.

...that was all well and good before the flood of fissile material hit the black market following the collapse of the Soviet Union .

Actually agree with Caedus here. It's not the threat of an invading army (yet). It's the threat of the uniting of hardline fundamentalists and their hatred toward the US. They become a greater terror threat. They can better organise and execute terror attacks in the west.

...and I think you are underestimating the potential threat from ISIS to forward the Libertarian ideal of isolationism

Can't argue with numbers and there are hundreds of thousands of fighters estimated to be there.  And these guys are trained, equipped, and very motivated.  Meanwhile Israel utterly failed to achieve their objectives in their past two wars and their citizens are so traumatized from their government's belligerence and blowback that their public spaces are empty.

One startling fact:  Israel's enemies fired the last shots of the past two wars they were involved in.  They have no control over the situation they're in.

The Israeli army, on a tactical level, could go toe to toe with the US army. ISIS potentially having a couple hundred thousand fighters isn't going to matter any more than Saddam's "4th largest army in the world" mattered for him. Skinned, I'd expect you to understand that.

Israel has all the control they need, not getting the "last shot" is a strategic reality. For every Israeli action, they know a Palestinian reaction is bound to occur. Try asking the Israeli posters of the forum their concerns over ISIS.

Israel doesn't seem concerned because they are willing to use nukes and they know America will be their meatshield.

If ISIS were JSIS we'd be slaughtering the shit out of the Middle East and applauding every single beheading as ordained by God.

We should partner with ISIS. They are just like us. Well, they are just like our conservatives, that is. Hacking and slicing our way across the wealthiest oil deposits in the world, forcing people to convert to our religion, oppressing women and subjugating them to their husband's desires. Damn if that doesn't sounds like a Republican dream scenario. GOPSIS would be a match made in a 72 virgin heaven.
