OH. And PS - If you haven't read 'Superman- Red Son' yet, do so immediately.

Haha, it's actually sitting on shelf along with that Elecktra tpb I got at the comic con. Its on my "to-read" list, rofl.

I can't speak for Elektra, but Red Son was literally one of the most moving orginal DC stories I've ever read. Up there with The Dark Knight Returns. I am not a huge Superman fan, but it was quite amazing. Also, Batman gets to take him down a peg or two. Again. :)

You mentioned you've been sticking with alot more indie stuff. Have you heard of any of these?

Edit:

Ughhh, some of the new stuff thats coming out looks so wack. Trying to be optimistic though.

I think its more of an art thing that bothers me.
One thing I really hated about Superior Spiderman and the new ASM is the art. Looks too similar...

I am planning on checking out the indie book 'The Wicked and The Divine' and maybe 'Trees', which I've heard good things about both. Can't really speak for the other two. Sorry, about that mini-spoiler. Not really one at all though. :)

But, seriously, read 'Red Son'.

So much to read, so little time.

Yeah, it's pretty hard sometimes. That's another reason why I like trades, because I feel more comfortable about bringing them anywhere to read when I have a free minute. I don't feel comfortable doing that with singles, don't know if I ever will lol. I pretty much am the poster boy definition about being ocd with my singles. Have to be home, usually in my room, and my hands are clean lol.

I think Red Son is 3 issues. A little lengthy, word-wise. But, overall a very engrossing read.

Had a few hours before work tonight. Started reading Red Son, it's pretty cool, haha. Kinda sweet seeing a Russian Batman and Lana. Read about 1/3 of it...I stopped where Stalin dies and Superman decides to lead Russia.

Have you heard of Mark Millar's Superior? I didn't have time to read it, but the concept of the book seemed pretty cool.

I've heard of it, and it's one of those series that I am going to investigate more after I get through allll these TPBs I have as "must read" stories. Then, I can branch out and find some stuff on my own. I only started reading last year, so I think I still have a lot of catching up to do haha.

Yeah, Red Son is so sweet. I love how it was done, and just everything about it. Perfect story from beginning to end imo. Especially love the ending and just the whole last issue I believe was so clever and amazing.

Off topic, but do you think a bolded "offical" Comic book thread might be a good idea? I'm thinking of making one.
