I think it's more because he's a professional athlete. Athletes aren't usually known for being the smartest.

That and he didn't go to college, plus that whole sexual assault thing.

Not to mention he's black

I think more Black people should stand up and be positive role models like this.

I prefer Tavis Smiley, Cornel West, Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, Condoleezza Rice, Michael Eric Dyson, Toni Morrison, Neil deGrasse Tyson.....

Are athletes not acceptable role models now?

US tennis player and black man James Blake is one of my biggest role models.

There is enough emphasis on slam dunking in the hood as it is. Education is the true elevative force.

Because people in the ghetto really know who most of these people are. Oprah is probably the only readily identifiable person in your list. So I ask, what good is a Black role model if most Black people have no idea that person even exists?
