When asked if he would act in protest over the Martin shooting:

Bryant paused and said, “Smartly,” seeming to imply that my example wasn’t one that he would have chosen himself. “I won’t react to something just because I’m supposed to, because I’m an African-American. That argument doesn’t make any sense to me. So we want to advance as a society and as a culture, but, say, if something happens to an African-American, we immediately come to his defense? Yet you want to talk about how far we’ve progressed as a society? Well, if we’ve progressed as a society, then you don’t jump to somebody’s defense just because they’re African-American. You sit and you listen to the facts just like you would in any other situation, right? So I won’t assert myself.”

What do you think about Bryant's comments? Is he an uncle Tom? An Oreo?

wow. Never realized he could display this level of intelligence.

According to wikipedia. Bryant's parents didn't talk to him for 2 years because he married young and to someone who wasn't black.

I think it's fair to say Kobe Bryant represents Kobe Bryant.

its time someone of color comes to their senses about that case. the black community in general is whats corrupt about this whole thing. They were able to push the media coverage a certain way with their cultural influence as musicians in some case. you have the raper will I am comparing the era of slavery to the case naming it "modern day lynching" and that one comment obama made was stupid. Now I am not saying a fatal bullet wound was 100% justified I am saying the black community pushed the media pretty much mislead everyone.
Who knows maybe zimmerman would of died if he didn;t shoot him.

I do have to emphasize what has been said; the contemporary usage of 'Uncle Tom' is silly and stupid.

It's like saying that Moby Dick was about hunting a whale. Anyone who read the back-cover may come to that conclusion, but anyone who read the book(s) would not.

Why so surprised? Kobe grew up overseas and knows multiple languages. He's not an idiot.

I love how both liberals and Ron Paul supporters are shocked at the fact that a negro is intelligent. Not surprising given how racist those parties are.

I wasn't shocked. I followed Kobe's career quite closely.

A not so valiant effort at portraying holders of differing viewpoints as racists..
