Eventually I would like to do a cold monk. Windforce Flurry for WotHF and Hand of Ytar for LTK, but SSS is physical / holy damage. I could do a Fists of Fury build for holy damage and see how well that performs...

If I was going cold I'd use Crippling Wave: Tsunami instead 100 Fists because Tsunami is just ridiculous looking.

Right but the cold damage skills aren't really that great as I see. Dashing strike has cold damage though, but most of it is dodge-centric.

I'm going to be a Holy Fire monk.

OK, lvl my 2nd monk yesterday to 70 so I can try out the cdr, element, health globe, Epiphany build.
Currently farming gears for him.
The problem I see is that most gears only have 4 main stats.

Example: ammy, gloves, rings
Desirable rolls will be Dex, ias, cc, cd and secondary will be owe res
So, I'll have to give up one main stat and 120+ res for cdr/ele dmg and health globe

Gotta give it a try and need some luck finding good main stats with cdr/ele dmg and health globe.
And use gems / paragon points for all res and vit.

Lightning build

900k dmg and 22mil toughness unbuffed in game with said passives..

Still feel so week compared to other classes....monks just seem very underwhelming...my gear is pretty decent

Found some decent legs with cold skill dmg so that's why I went cold. I will probably switch to lightning at some point. The build works pretty good, I still like Deadly Reach with the extra spirit generated just to spam more LTKs/Cyclone Strikes. You can pretty much spam cyclone strike indefinitely if you throw in a few Deadly Reach attacks every now and then. I still need to get some gear upgrades but I'm improving every day.

How it Hand of Ytar against groups?

Seems like it will hit 2-3 enemies if they are close together, but overall for AOE I use cyclone strike. Either that or pull them in and then spam several different enemies with Hand of Ytar.

I have not played this game in a Long LONG LONG time but would like to start again. My gear was never that great when I did play, and now I assume its all irrelevant.

Can someone help me find a budget and the right gear to buy to get be back in the game? Please and thank you!
