well the 280x wont perform as well as the 780 at stock or maxed oc at 1440p, its a different tier.

290 is more along the lines of 780 price/performance and thus should be the 1440p comparison.

true that... so if im getting 69 average on valley bench on ExtremeHD 1920x1080p 24" non ips.. i shouldnt see TOO much of a change to a 27" 1440p ips? i dont want to go below 60 fps... but maybe since i OC'd stuff vs stock im okay.

You're over complicating things.

Was just saying 780 is enough to max 95% of games @ 1440p

Wasnt directly saying 280x = 780

was saying 280x = 770

And 780 > Obv.

It's a benchmark.. not an actual game.

If you're getting 70~ you'll prob get 45~ @ 1440p

That's just a rough estimate, Look up actual game benchmarks..

these benchmarks are torture tests, to see if the card fails at the clocks it is set at and big penis waving numbers.

like furmark is used to reach an absolute max temp, while in games you wont reach that.

well i was in a raid on WoW, newest one..small area but very graphic intensive boss fight, 4 bosses at once, 25 man..didnt stutter or anything and i believe stayed around 70-80 fps with all settings ultra..and in other places i hover around 90-150 fps, in stormwind (not sure if you guys play WoW or not) outside AH, with all those people..kept 65-75 fps, 85-95+++ all other areas or way more.

GW2 completely maxed out in big areas w/ a lot going on etc i got 75+ easy stable

That 780 is fine and sense you will playing at 1440p you won't need AA either.

Really? so if i got a 1440p ill never need AA? If thats so i should be fine..cause AA eats up a huge chunk of fps.

I play wow with vsync on at 1080p at ultra with shadows disabled. Every once in awhile I see my FPs drop to 50s in org or 25man raid. I have 4x AA though. Should I just turn it off? I play on 32" LCD tv
