Going from a 24" 1080p DELL monitor non-IPS to a 27" 1440p IPS monitor cause if any?

I plan to get a 27" 1440p monitor (not sure which yet) in a month or two and give current to GF, and i want to know how it will effect my FPS.

ATM in valley benchmark, ExtremeHD setting with CPU/GPU OC'd to speeds in my sig..I get 2880-2890 score, 69-70 average fps.

Just wanting to know if anyone has a rough estimate of change, thanks!

depends on what game ur playing.

and if u play games at 1080p on a 1440p monitor, then it shouldnt change fps, due to same resolution

well whole point of wanting new monitor is better picture, bigger screen, etc. or else 1440p monitor just be useless to get. might as well just get a 27" IPS in 1080p again.. but i want to see how much of a change 1440 vs 1080 average is.

and i have googled it, i didnt really find much.

Its roughly a 40% drop in framerates. 40% more pixels etc.

780 should be fine for 1440p, I can play mostly everything 60fps+ @ 1440p with a 280x which is about equal to a 770

Check this out, If you want to save some money.
You can pick up a qnix 1440p monitor for about 300-400~ Depending on where you buy from & if you get a pixel perfect model.

thats not an apt comparisson, the 290 has only one "non ref" out and it is still a reference pcb.

we wont know the true value of the 290 until we get twin frozrs/lightnings/toxic etc.

the tri-x 290 clocks in at 1125 mhz and performs well for a 450$ mrsp, it needs a proper pcb rework though.

/e to allow for actual overclocks
