So lapping cpu, 6 hours in cause major flaw on the evo, screw holding buffer
Brush on dremel tool flies off. dings the pipe undo'ing all my work.

Should never of buffed it for a pic..... anyways...

Fucking with case now cause was so mad. anyways will re-sand it later when I do cpu tonight.

After 1 hour lapping you can see the major flaw where it looks like something scrapped it
Can clearly see the x pattern which mean the cooler was VERY convex and the flaw concave.





When I hit the pipe with the screw from dremel right as I was finishing up.



Will post pic of it when its done properly later.

When I finished the 400 grit and had pure copper top.





All done.

Now to pop this shit in with some kryonaut and boot the system.
Tomorrow begins the over clocking, well maybe sunday tomorrow I do taxes.

So what was that final grit on each piece?

2k then buffed em till mirror finish.

idles are 30-35 (I know my apartment is fucking hot)
under prime 95 nothing is peaking over 51-54 after 30min.

So I shaved off at least 6-8 degrees lapping. Stock clocks atm.
Will see what this cpu can do when home, expect after an oc I'll see better results.

Well idk wtf is up but this stupid msi board won't save any fucking oc settings.
Do I have to use OC genie? Cause every time I manually configure it the settings just don't apply in windows.
Like cpu z shows multiplier can go up to 40 but system won't go past 3400mhz. Then the settings are cleared when
I go back into the bios. It's just the OC settings that revert (multiplier/vcore/memory/oc profiles) everything else
stays the same (eist/turbo/pll/spread spectrum/etc). I've updated bios to newest. Also tried the MSI biosclickII against
my better judgment, as you can guess that didn't help at all either.

If someone knows whats up please for the love of god shed some light. I feel like I'm missing something basic and I'm
going to rage real hard real soon. This boards a PoS, MSI Z77A-G45.
