The higher the resolution the better.

Was looking at this on NCIX, kind of expensive at $500:
"10Nixeus Vue 27IN H-IPS Ultra High Resolution LED Backlit Monitor 2560X1440 HAS DVI HDMI DisplayPort"

I don't particularly want to downgrade from 27 inches since that's what I'm using right now. I want color accuracy, or at least close enough (my BenQ 27 inch from a couple years ago is not close enough).

The panels they use in these are samsung PLS (aka ips but better)

And are VERY color accurate.

Probably best you'll get for under $1k

For colour accuracy I'd go with a Dell U2710

Come on ghot...

He said the $500 panel he linked was "Kind of expensive"

What makes you think he's going to want to pay over 1k?..

I know, but I like to give the best answer :)

...and it's $300 cheaper from Amazon than it is from DELL :)

Yeh. My budget is around $500. I think I can get an accurate-enough IPS panel at 27 inches and high resolution for that price. It doesn't need to be 99.99% accurate, but still so accurate that I don't have issues. Right now my LCD panel is so inaccurate that I can't edit photos in lightroom without major issues when viewing the photo afterward in something else.

You just want to remind everyone you have one.

I'm with Rikuo. The Qnix are PLS Samsungs and are very nice.

Ya know how I feel about them...one input, no real warranty, and no guarantee that they're even gonna work. For those who get new monitors every 6 months or a year...they can't be beat. But if you want one to last, etc., get a DELL Ultrasharp...and quality wise, there is no comparison.
