I think it's the natural progression from being an atheist. If you don't believe in God, then you're accepting there is no inherent morality in the world.
I don't see what the truth-values of moral statements have to do with one's belief in God any more than one's belief in one's own senses have to do with one's belief in God.

So what you're saying is that people shouldn't believe what you believe is true and that you act as if it were true. As I said, I've never met a nihilist.
